Northdoor awarded Cloud Solution Provider of the Year 2022
Northdoor is delighted to announce that it has won the Cloud Solution Provider of the Year category in the IT Europa Channel Awards.
The award recognises the work Northdoor undertook with market-leading corporate travel management company, Blue Cube Travel, who moved from an on-premises, server-based environment to the Azure cloud. Blue Cube Travel’s Microsoft Azure cloud migration reduced cyber risk, enabled stronger cyber-security policies and future-proofed infrastructure.
Blue Cube Travel’s Microsoft Azure cloud migration reduced cyber risk, enabled stronger cyber-security policies and future-proofed infrastructure. Share on XDominic Green, Cloud Practice Lead at Northdoor commented on winning the award:
“This is a well-deserved award for a dedicated team working at the cutting edge of cloud services. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer the latest solutions on cloud platforms which is our job. This allows our clients to focus on their jobs because we have built a resilient, robust environment on state of the art cloud.”
Richard Hartill, Client Manager at Northdoor added:
“At Northdoor we understand that migrating on-premise systems to the cloud is not a simple ‘lift and shift’ operation. Stakeholder involvement is crucial, and we ensured that members of the management team were involved throughout the design and implementation process to assess and understand the impact of any changes to the day-to-day operations. Having migrated to the cloud, Blue Cube Travel is now far better positioned to compete with competitors, due to the breadth, flexibility, scale and resilience of its cloud-based IT operations.”
Kevin Trill, Blue Cube Travel, said:
“Any business that is considering moving to the cloud, needs to evaluate using professional services. Unfortunately, you don’t know what you don’t know and having a trusted partner, like Northdoor, to advise has been essential for our continued use of the cloud. Without this expert guidance, it was highly likely that any solution we implemented risked failing to deliver on any of the reasons why we migrated to the cloud in the first place. There is no way we could have implemented all the solutions which are now vital to our business operation without using the cloud.
“The new cloud-based server environment not only provides better performance and resiliency; over time it will save us a significant amount of cost and a reduction in the time required for system management and support”.
Northdoor worked closely with Blue Cube Travel to migrate its on-premise systems to Microsoft Azure, by implementing a carefully planned strategy that addressed critical requirements such as data privacy, security, resiliency, business continuity as well as the governance required to comply with a complex regulatory landscape. This involved not just a move from office-based servers, but also server upgrades, networking, phones and enhancing security.

With Northdoor’s expertise and professional services support, each of these elements were manageable deliverables and by the end of the year, a successful migration was complete. Servers, phones, networking, data and a new collaboration solution were all being delivered from the new cloud environment. The project remains fluid with new enhancements identified and implemented, such as increased security to buffer against an ever-growing cyber security threat.
When Northdoor were made finalists for the award, AJ Thompson, CCO of Northdoor, said:
“We are thrilled to be a finalist in the Cloud Provider of the Year category for our work with Blue Cube Travel. Facing strong competition from industry-leading software development and IT and telecoms providers, we are delighted that our experience and expertise in migrating complex, on-premises migrations to the cloud has been recognised.
“Well done to the technical architects for delivering another successful cloud project for another very happy client. As the current IT Europa Security Provider of the Year, this is further acknowledgement of the quality of Northdoor’s technical teams across the board.”
About IT Europa Channel Awards
The Awards took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on the 19th May and saw a raft of technology innovators and experts come together to recognise and reward excellence in the European software development, IT and Telecoms solutions sectors.
The European IT & Software Excellence Awards are the only pan-European awards which recognise the crucial role that Channel Partners, distributors, ISVs, Solution Providers and Systems Integrators play in the delivery of real-world solutions. Entries were submitted by the channel, ISVs, Solution Providers and Integrators themselves describing the solution provided. Each entry has to be supported by an endorsement by the client. The event also recognises service excellence from the vendor and distributor community.
